Space Invaders?

Kosher or Keep Away!!?? Is it okay to touch a pregnant woman's belly without permission? I suppose family is sorta okay, but still... would you grab a non pregnant person's belly? I'm rather fond of my personal space and they call it personal space for a reason.

We went out to eat the other night and there was another pregnant couple that just came in after us. We watched them sit down and look at the menu. Must've been 7 or 8 months along. The waitress comes by and starts oohing at her with her hand reaching out. I was too far to hear if she got permission or not. I would've probably denied her.

Apparently a lot of pregnant women don't like being touched and grabbed by strangers. So please, if you have the urge, ask first. Its just common courtesy. I suppose it may remind mothers of when they were pregnant or if they've never been pregnant they want to know what its like. But that belly does belong to someone that might not be the touchy feelly type.

I will admit, I am the cheek pinching auntie. But that's to babies that are born already... not still in the oven. No offense to those that intend to reach and rub at the first sight of me, whenever that will be. But there's no "feel the belly" sticker on my packaging. I'm sure I'll let you if you ask me first. But if you get your hand slapped away by Chris, then you were warned. =)

I've touched with permission of course and its pretty cool to feel the baby kicking....but with Mark, I touch without permission all the time and he doesn't mind it!
