Weekend Quotes, etc...

This holiday weekend we went to LA and Murrieta for a wedding and a birthday bbq. This is the first time the family and family friends got a chance to see the protrusion. Here's a few reactions and comments I got this weekend with some older ones thrown in. Random order, no names attached.

"LOOK AT THE BABY!!!" - with pointing, no less

"WHOA, you've got a bump!! WHOA, you got boobs!!" - Baby's gotta eat

"
You're pretty, it must be a girl. If it was a boy, you'd be ugly." - I only hear that one from Filipinos and at least 5 times over the weekend.

"
She's 3 months along... oh, 5?? No wonder your big up there." - Umm, is that all you see?? They're in the kit when you get the belly.

"
Welcome to... (screaming kids running around the house)...my world."

2 year old cousin is prompted by an auntie to feel the baby (without warning). "There's a baby in there." 2 year old proceeds to try to lift my shirt to see the baby underneath. "Oh.. not yet." - Kids do the funniest things.

Conversation retold to me by a friend:
"Is Melissa pregnant?" "Yep" "So she didn't just eat too many cheeseburgers?"

"So what's it like to be pregnant?" - For me, besides the belly, its pretty much like I'm not...for now.

"
You should eat more, you're eating for 2 now." I only need an extra 300 calories, that's like a bowl of cereal. "Are you worried about your weight?" No, but I'm not eating for 2 adults. - People always seem to forget that part.

I'll think of more later.

So we're on about week 21 now. Half way there. Still feeling good and all that. I bought myself a prenatal workout video about a month ago. Its supposed to help prepare you for labor and delivery and helps you be able to bounce back to your pre-baby weight after birth. We'll see how it goes. I've been trying to do it at least 3 times a week. I try to walk the rest of the week. Try being the operative word. For sure I'm doing a lot more exercise than I used to. I guess that's what babies do to you... gets you to do stuff you never thought you could or were to lazy to do before. If nothing else, it'll stretch out my muscles and get my blood flowing. Maybe it'll help me keep up the habit after and lower my cholesterol a little. I got the post natal video too. So I'm all set. Chris tried it one morning with me. It claims to be a 7 on a scale of 10 for difficulty. I'm working up to it. He said it was pretty hard, even for him. More stretching than he's used to, I guess. But its nice that he tried it out at least once. =)
