Not Yet

For all of you who are wondering...

No, I haven't popped yet.

I've been home since the beginning of last week. Pretty uneventful just waiting at home. I imagined I'd get some chores done an tidy up around the house. But sometimes a nap just seems more fulfilling. The house is mostly ready for the baby. At least in the beginning. I'm sure we'll be adapting to the change so we'll have a better grasp of what we really need and what should go where.

Of course when she does arrive, she won't be the only extra person in the house. New baby means visitors. Is the house ready for them? Well, perhaps a little more tidying up would be good.

I'm still a week away from my due date, for those of you keeping track. I've had such a mild, or maybe mellow, pregnancy that I'm not sure what to expect in the area of labor signals. Have I dropped yet? Well, some say an ease of breathing is an indicator of that. But I didn't really have issues with constricted breathing to begin with, so I have nothing really to compare it with. I've been getting Braxton Hicks, or false, contractions for the last few months so that's all sorta normal for me. Okay, I get them a little more frequently and a little stronger, but its not in consistent intervals and no pain involved. My mom said with me, her false labor was timeable and they didn't hurt either but by then I was ready to enter the world. So, if I'm the same way... I just hope I get some sort of signs and read them correctly. No water breaking yet, although some women I know had their water broken by the doctor/nurse at the hospital. So I'm banking on cramps and pain as a for sure indicator. But this is my first so I'll just have to wing it. We're hoping at our next doctor's visit she'll just "check my progress" and tell me I'm ready and to take a walk for a while before going to the hospital. Everything else has been fairly easy so far. Might as well keep that ball rolling.

Don't worry, when she arrives, we'll let you know. We appreciate your concern but you don't have to call, email, or text us every 10 minutes to ask if there's anything yet. It may take a few days, but we'll keep you posted.
