I just say she's 2.

When people ask how old our child is, people (at least mothers) will expect an answer in months... I'm guessing all the way until 3 years old... at now 20 months, I've started to just tell people she's 2.

She shows all the tell tale signs of a terrible-two-year-old:
  1. Defiance
  2. The default response to every/any question (no matter the question) is, "No!"
  3. Frustration and whining over EVERYTHING.
  4. Mood swings.
  5. Tantrums
  6. Defiance
  7. Repeat as necessary.
Yes. It takes its toll. But we still love her of course. :) One think we did notice was that she had sort of a breakthrough around the weekend of her Grandpa Francisco's birthday. She's all done with parrot-repeat-what-you-say phase and has moved on to actually understanding what you've asked or said and responding with a thought out answer. So we know she's capable of processing what we're asking/telling her to do. She's just apparently at the age where doesn't want to!

Notable is the ease at which she says her ABCs now. She still goes quiet when we ask her to say it in front of people. You'll just have to take our word for it. Counting still takes some coaxing, but she can do it all the way up to her twenties. Singing twinkle twinkle, she always misses the line, "Up above the world so high..." Not sure why she does that. I believe it's got something to do with the female instinct to skip to the line about a diamond being in the sky, but that's just me.

Newly developed common sayings for the months of May/June:
  1. Okay my turn!
  2. No that's MINE (insert thing here)!
  3. Where's...(insert thing/person here)? Lost it!
  4. I'll find it!
