After 2 weeks of life, Cathleya is now 8 lbs. In 2 more weeks she'll be getting some shots. That will be interesting.
She's starting to get her days and nights back in the right order. She's awake more during the day. Which means she doesn't sleep as long in between feedings. A little trying on Mommy, but she's got to eat. I'll probably introduce the bottle next month or so, since I'll have to go back to work in January. Got to ease her into it. We're getting more accustomed to which type of cry means what. Although, at times, we still have to change the diaper like 2 or 3 times in a row because she's not "done" by the time we change the first one.
Obviously she's gained some weight. The pediatrician is always amazed at how much progress she's making. Typically babies loose weight right after birth then gains weight after that. She's never lost weight. Her neck is fairly strong for such a young kid too. Her eyelashes are coming in nicely. I think she's got her daddy's eyelashes... They're getting long. Her eyebrows are filling in too.
They always say babies grow up fast. I think Cathleya is getting past her newborn onesies already. Well, we've graduated to size 1 diapers which take up more room in the onesies than the newborn diapers. So we put her in the 0-3 month onesies that fit the bigger diapers a little better.
Mommy is recovering well. I had a checkup last week too. My recover is progressing well. I'm still waiting for more than 1 hour of consecutive sleep. I'm a light sleeper to begin with, so every little squeak generally wakes me up. But I got used to the few random hours of sleep during my last few months of pregnancy. I've got like 10 more pounds of baby weight left. I don't necessarily need to loose it, but it would be nice if it were distributed a little more evenly. Par for the course, I suppose. Its a good thing water weight doesn't take long to loose.
