Cathleya turned 5 months old this month. She loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and putting things in her mouth. She's probably rounding out at about 14 lbs nowadays. We've started trying out rice cereal. Not too swift with the swallowing yet. But she seems to like the stuff a little thicker than how the box says to mix it. Practice. She can sorta turn over when she's on her tummy, but not so good from back to belly. She laughs at stuff more so now, although strangers and new people will generally get the blank stare still. Mama is her favorite person in the evenings. No one else seems to measure up. She's got a faint shadow of two bottom teeth waiting to pop out, or erupt, as they say. Her left thumb is her best friend when she's sleepy. Pacifiers will occupy her but its more of a toy than a soothing action for her. Her bedtime book is Peter Rabbit and her favorite toys are her purple giraffe rattle, leapfrog caterpillar, and her star and fishy dangly thingy that hangs on her car seat.
She went to her first wedding in Long Beach over the weekend. Daddy will blog about the trip. But the wedding went fairly well. Once she had her bottle she was happy. The reception was a little loud for her but somehow she slept through the clatter for about 20 minutes, until the DJ started talking.
Lola finished her 2.5 month tour of duty in baby sitting last week. Pah-Pah came over that week to help transition Cathleya. Her other grandma retired at the end of February so she's on babysitting duty two days out of the week. The rest of the week she's going to an at home daycare. The lady was referred to us by Chris' coworker. Today was her first day. We'll see how it goes. I get to be the bad guy and drop her off. Before I left she already dirtied a diaper and all her clothes. She cried during the changing and up til a few minutes before I left. She was quiet when I said goodbye, but I heard her cry as I walked down the stairs to my car. But I didn't hear anything as I drove by to leave. I'm sure she'll do fine. Daddy gets to pick her up and be the good guy, rescuing her from the daycare lady.
Her Baptism and Red Egg & Ginger party planning is in the works. Her special day is set up for mid May. We need to find a restaurant. She has so much family that wants to celebrate with her that this thing is approaching wedding reception size. If you want to read a little more about these two baby celebrations, here are some links...
