Friday night... wasn't so bad. Momma stayed with her in the back while Lola sat up front. I, of course drove and we stayed and Cathleya's Auntie MayMay's. Saturday morning we head to Lakewood in a good mood.

The wedding was beautiful, we took many pictures, yadda yadda yadda...

We then head to the hotel where she remained in her good mood. She even got a nice plush bed of her own.

We have a happy birthday brunch for Lola in Long Beach...

~11:00am
And then head north. So far so good. It's when we hit traffic and I take a small detour that things start to... let's say "go South." She's taking a GREAT nap, but it takes roughly 3 hours to get to Santa Barbara. 3 HOURS instead of the normal 2. We stop to feed and change her. Dirty diaper #1. This stop is approximately 1 hour long.
Let me take a moment to give a little background on why feeding takes so long. 3 things.
- Fussy.
- California law says Infants must be in a car seat while the vehicle is moving. That means Mommy can't nurse her while the car is in motion.
- Fussy.
Moving on... Another normal 1.5 to 2 hours to SLO where we have to stop again. We get gas, feed, and change her... and change her again. That's #2 and #3 MASSIVELY dirty diapers. It is at this time, it's pointed out to me that she hadn't had any dirty diapers all weekend until today. This stop is also an hour long; just enough time to watch the parking lot at CostCo (where we got gas) empty around us.
~6pm
Another 1.5-2 hours to King City and we need food and to change and feed again. Another additional hour in the Taco Bell parking lot.
~8pm
~3 hours remain for the drive home.
Arrival time was approximately 10:30-11pm. Half a day in the car. Makes a daddy want to fly next time.
